Job Description

Insight Global is looking to hire a full-time Sr Manufacturing Engineer in Thermal Spraay for one of our very large manufacturing clients in Charlotte, NC. This role will be involved with supporting the combustion team within a Gas Services division. The Sr. Engineer in this role will need to be comfortable in a very dynamic and fast-paced environment, solving various technical issues relating to complex gas turbine combustion components. The candidate will be participating in daily Gemba meetings where part/project priorities are highlighted as they relate to both standard production and various development initiatives. At times, he/she will be on the shop floor ensuring the operators have all the necessary tools and equipment to perform their thermal spray duties and when needed, take a hands-on approach to rectifying booth/equipment issues.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelors or masters degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or a related degree

  If no degree need at least 15 years of related work experience.

8+ years experience in the thermal spray and manufacturing industry

Proficiency in development and application of either HVOF or APS coating processes.

Experience in operating and troubleshooting relevant equipment, robot program creation and modification using ABB or Fanuc controls, as well as offline programming

Knowledge of mechanical testing methodologies and metallurgical examination and evaluation practices.

Familiarity with Lean and or Six Sigma philosophies and their application in process capability and improvement.

Practical understanding of SAP or other similar computer software and willingness to learn. Six Sigma Certification
