Robert Half SQL Database Developer in Charlotte, North Carolina

Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced SQL Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data systems, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security. This role requires a deep understanding of SQL, data modeling, and ETL processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases and data pipelines.

  • Optimize database performance, including tuning queries, indexing, and schema design.

  • Develop and implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.

  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across all databases.

  • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance and data-related issues.

  • Develop and maintain documentation for database schemas, processes, and procedures.

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a SQL Data Engineer or similar role.

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

  • Experience with ETL tools and processes.

  • Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and data architecture.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data services.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).

  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data processing and automation.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

  • Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate).
