Spectrum Senior Instructional Designer in Charlotte, North Carolina

You will develop and design high-quality learning programs and materials for corporate training initiatives. You will analyze training needs, collaborate with subject matter experts, and create engaging instructional content using various formats and technologies. You will apply instructional design principles to develop effective learning experiences, incorporating interactive activities, assessments, and multimedia elements. You will lead the development and implementation of training strategies, evaluate program effectiveness, and provide guidance to instructional design teams. You will conduct standard to moderate complex instructional design projects. Overall, you will focus on creating impactful and innovative learning solutions that align with organizational goals and drive employee development.
Your focus will be to simplify and enhance the employee experience at Spectrum to help maintain prime organizational effectiveness. Spectrum employees will count on your follow-through and escalation, when necessary, to handle each confidential issue with respect. WHAT OUR SENIOR INSTURCTIONAL DESIGNERS ENJOY MOST
To collaborate with the leadership teams and business subject matter experts to design engaging learning that mitigates risk to the company and supports company values
To partner with the business to create clear learning objectives in support of business goal
To design and develop high-quality learning content to meet the needs of the supported audience
To conduct reviews of training materials to ensure learning objectives are met
To provide enhancements and revisions to existing materials based on SME/Stakeholder feedback
To maintain current knowledge of the latest industry tools and processes
To collaborate with assigned L&D Staff, Manager(s) and/or Director(s) to create quality training deliverables
To actively participate in and facilitate in-person or virtual meetings as needed to support learning projects
To maintain accurate status of projects, milestones, and tasks in the team project tracking tool
To diagnose and escalate risks to design projects to appropriate L&D leaders and stakeholders
To collaborate with leadership team and business subject matter experts to design large-scale, engaging learning that enhances business performance, with minimal support
To design and develop comprehensive learning solutions that provide an excellent user experience and incorporate multiple deliverables (online, video, simulations, Instructor-led, Virtual, etc.), to meet business and performance objectives
To develop storyboards to support eLearning design
To manage all functions of eLearning design, including storyboarding, scripting, assessment, and multi-media inclusion
To create and implement evaluation plans to demonstrate business impact of training initiatives
To achieve and model team quality standards in all aspects of learning design while managing 3-5 projects at a time
To proactively partner with internal customers to determine performance and training needs
To design instruction that reflects an understanding of the diversity of learners and groups of learners
To manage external resources to maximize cost effectiveness and quality
To apply business skills to managing instructional design
To promote collaboration, partnerships, and relationships among the participants of a project
To serve as a mentor and/or knowledge resource to less experienced designers
Model the adoption of ongoing improvements in team processes and standards
To develop partner relationships with SMEs and stakeholders to ensure that training meeting expectations beyond initial implementation Perform other duties as requested

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Adult Learning or equivalent experience
4+ years of Instructional Design and development experience
3 + years experience in Project Management
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Critical thinking and analytical skills
Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel
Ability to deal with the public in a professional manner
Ability to leverage advanced and emerging digital learning tools, delivery methods and platforms
Demonstrated PC skills and MS Office skills
Ability to provide guidance and support to others on using designated technology to perform tasks
Ability to develop technical skills to increase personal capabilities, speed and quality of learning interactions
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to effectively build engaging eLearning content in Articulate Storyline
Ability to create digital assets using Adobe Creative Cloud
