Job Summary and Description:

Manages multiple programs or projects with emphasis on developing the priorities and strategy for the area managed, deployment and development of EPRI staff and the financial success of the area(s).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing/implementing the R&D deployment strategy for the area(s)

  • Responsible for management of one or more technical programs or major functional areas, handling significant number of personnel & contractors in the execution of their roles

  • Responsible for technical and financial results produced by the program(s) or functional areas

  • Accountable for program level succession strategies, hiring of staff, performance management, and development planning

  • Identifies the most qualified internal staff and contractor teams to complete the work. Selects contractors, frames statements of work

  • Directs the work of the team to assure technical and financial milestones are met

  • Responsible for employee selection, performance management, and development planning

  • Has responsibility for mentoring and guiding staff

  • Establishes operational objectives and work plans and delegates assignments to staff and/or managers

  • Recommends changes to policy where appropriate and establishes procedures that affect the immediate operation

  • Responsible for the program level advisory structure

  • Leads and/or participates in sector-wide efforts that affect R&D strategic direction or operational processes within the sector.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven leadership and management capability overseeing an area of multiple programs and/or a high degree of technical complexity

  • Responsible for funding, spending and workforce participation in program area(s)

  • Proven people management experience with a proven track record of strong skills related to recruitment, hiring, people development, and retention

  • Works directly with member advisors to ensure member engagement and guidance

  • Effective in both interpersonal interactions and in making formal presentations to convey the value of the Program and assure understanding of customer needs

  • Presents, with a high degree of technical credibility, Program content, value and research results at member locations and with member leadership

  • May present program activities to the Sector Council

  • Has working knowledge of the various Sector programs, strategy and values and aligns Program activities to support cross program participation.

  • Possesses working knowledge of the Sector Programs, strategy to represent the Sector to organizations and member

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education:

  • Advanced degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required.

The salary range for this position is $166,250 USD to $194,250 USD annually.

This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.

This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s standard employee benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, vision, 401k, STD/LTD and paid family leave, life and accident insurance, paid time off (flexible vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay).
