Novant Health Oncology APP Lead in Charlotte, North Carolina

    Essential Functions

  • Patient Care: Obtains complete history and physical data on patients. Reviews patient records. Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed. Performs a complete physical exam and records findings. Establishes presumptive diagnosis. Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention.

  • Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs. Performs independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations. Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits. Provides care that is appropriate for specific age groups

  • Inpatient and Outpatient oncology care-the APP is an individual with clinical skills and medical skills in the specialty of medical oncology

  • Professional Development: Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations. Attends required meetings and participates in practice activities as requested.

  • Teamwork and Communication: Work within a team to achieve patient and team goals. Share and initiate regular and professional communication with co-workers. Participate in regular staff meeting. Identifies opportunities to improve processes based on feedback from staff and customers. Monitors quality of core process in department. Collaborates with other departments or disciplines to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Lead duties: Collaborate with Administrator and/or Lead Clinician on APP oversight. Responsible for creating and organizing schedules/call schedules for APPs. Arrange for APP coverage for both the clinic and hospital setting if another APP absence. Organize and assist with development of on-boarding of new APPs. Attend as needed meetings with lead clinician and administrator to communicate needs and inefficiencies of the clinic. Attend interviews with each APP candidate. Frequent communication with other clinic APPs to identify areas for opportunities in clinic, hospital and doctor/APP inefficiencies.

  • 40 hours/week, candidate MUST be flexible with schedule.

  • Travel will be required to multiple facilities within the Charlotte area.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate Degree, required. Masters Degree or post masters degree in an accredited program; national certification.

  • Experience: Two years or greater of experience as a provider working in an oncology setting and /or a physician practice setting, required.

  • Licensure/Certification: Current NP license in appropriate state and or PA certification required.
