Job Title: Maintenance Electrician

Job Description

Diagnoses, installs, repairs, tests, and calibrates complex AC and DC electrical systems, such as motor-starting circuits, AC magnetic circuits, pilot device systems, pressure and limit switches, and solenoid valves. Perform preventative and routine maintenance on all equipment, assist with training operators in maintenance tasks, and provide troubleshooting to correct quality issues and minimize downtime. Evaluate trends and patterns on repaired equipment, implement actions to eliminate repetitive repair work, install new equipment or perform upgrades, source and order parts, and manage spare parts area. Complete documentation of work performed and set an example of safe work practices.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, install, repair, test, and calibrate complex AC and DC electrical systems.

  • Perform preventative and routine maintenance on all equipment.

  • Assist with training operators in maintenance tasks.

  • Assist operators with machine troubleshooting to correct quality issues and minimize downtime.

  • Evaluate trends and patterns on repaired equipment and implement actions to eliminate repetitive repair work.

  • Install new equipment or perform upgrades to existing equipment.

  • Source and order parts as needed and assist in management of spare parts area.

  • Complete documentation of work performed.

  • Set an example of safe work practices in every job performed, including LOTO, PPE, and elevated work.

Essential Skills

  • High School Diploma required. Certificate, degree, or apprenticeship in an electrical or electronics trade is strongly preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance of manufacturing equipment.

  • Knowledge and understanding of 480V 3 phase power.

  • Experience with mechanical power transfer systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.

  • Competence in reading electrical and mechanical schematics.

  • Fork truck operation and rigging experience.

  • Ability to work with limited supervision.

  • Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple priorities.

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.

  • Customer service orientation.

  • Detail-oriented with a natural preference for orderliness.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook).

  • Ability to see colors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code NFPA 70.

  • Working knowledge of NFPA electrical standards for industrial machinery.

  • Basic experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting.

  • Basic knowledge of RSLogix 500 and RSLogix 5000 software.

  • North Carolina electrical license.

Work Environment

Working conditions include an 8-hour Monday-Friday shift schedule (2nd Shift + 3rd Shift) with flexibility in work hours. The work is primarily on the plant floor with some office and computer time. The role requires the ability to work in environments with hot/cold temperatures, wet areas, elevated and confined spaces, and standing/walking for the majority of the day on uneven surfaces. Physical mobility, including reaching, lifting, holding, pushing, pulling, carrying, bending, climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling, and extending arms and legs, is required. Exposure to noise and some chemical products is expected, with all appropriate protective equipment provided. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $74880.00
