The AML Enhanced Due Diligence Manager ("EDD Manager") will support the maintenance and control design strategy of the Sanctions, Anti-Money Laundering and Enhanced Due diligence programs and assessing risks associated with high-risk clients identified during onboarding and customer life cycle. This position will comply with all state and federal rules, regulations and laws while utilizing sound judgment and the highest degree of confidentiality.
The individual must be an independent worker that is self-driven and be able to work collaboratively with the team and business partners.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Enhance and manage a risk identification strategy that continually identifies new business risks and lessons learned from applicable regulatory enforcements.
Execute AML and Sanctions annual risk assessment program, including control inventory and risk typology mapping. Coordinate as needed with enterprise risk programs.
Manage the company’s customer screening process and procedures in place to detect high risk activities requiring enhanced due diligence. Conduct reviews of client documentation/information submitted by business units.
Responsible for collecting and analyzing documents related to account opening requirements in order to identify control persons and underlying beneficial owners; a good understanding of Corporate Formation Documents is needed.
Execute high-risk customer refresh process and ongoing enhanced due diligence procedures.
Manage the Sanctions Program to ensure compliance with the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) laws, including maintaining and revising screening process against various other governments sanctioned or restricted lists.
Assist with oversight of Equitable’ s investment business; including, due diligence reviews conducted on borrowers for higher risk transactions, collecting and validating quarterly sub certifications from asset managers and periodic reviews of loan representations to ensure sufficient AML/Sanctions compliance verbiage.
Lead the maintenance of the FIU “internal” and “New Business” watch list comprised of known and current high-risk customers.
Support the Customer Risk Committee through review of Client Risk Scoring methodology, Client Identification/KYC documentation and Know Your Country updates.
Monitor, review, and report unusual client/ policy activity to lead investigator. Assist AML investigations with analysis as needed.
Maintain policy of OFAC regulations to remain compliant with U.S. laws and ensure that issues are reported on in a timely manner.
Work closely with FIU Tech team on any issues or new processes to be implemented with respect to the FCO Monitoring Programs.
Assist with reviews of FinCen 314a and other screening regulatory required functions and processes start to finish, including coordination responsibilities with business unit personal in performing this responsibility.
Acts as a BSA, AML and OFAC subject matter expert to identify process improvements: Identifying, recommending and executing potential solutions that monitor, detect or prevent sanctions violations, money laundering or terrorist finance activity.
Respond to inquiries from internal business partners; and develops and presents content to various audiences.
Handle other duties as assigned to assist with the effective administration of the FIU Programs.
The base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $70,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of industry experience in insurance or broker dealer service operations, compliance or audit with a focus on anti-money laundering, fraud or other financial crime
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of life, annuity, brokerage and investment advisory products and operations
Knowledge of Equitable's products, processes and controls of the organization activities
Demonstrated ability to influence others in a team environment
Highly analytical with a controls mindset
Flexible and willing to respond to unanticipated issues and constantly reprioritize based on business demands
Possess leadership skills and can successfully work alone and to maintain a team player attitude. Candidate should be able to work independently on a multitude of projects and ensure that both internal and external deadlines are met.
