Honeywell is seeking a External Communications Specialist to support the Corporate businesses. This individual will be a key part of the brand and external communications team, helping drive strategy and planning across the enterprise. The specialist will also support top tier media relations in support of corporate thought leadership, executive positioning and other business announcements. This role will assemble ongoing and project specific reports for the leadership team. This role includes working cross-functionally with other teams, such as Customer Marketing, on specific projects.

We are seeking a highly collaborative candidate with a proven track record of executing strategic communications plans, including preparing content that simplifies complex business information for a variety of audiences and maintaining positive media relationships

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of brand and communications activities, including maintaining the overall annual plan with key messaging and assembling reports (daily brief, weekly roundup, monthly pulses and quarterly results).

  • Contribute to external communications strategies, through development of press releases, key messages, media statements, Q&A documents, briefing materials, etc.

  • Support efforts to drive top tier media coverage with powerful and creative storytelling.

  • Help position Honeywell executives as thought leaders within the company’s megatrends and industry developments.

  • Collaborate with Honeywell’s global customer marketing, government relations, internal communications and other teams to increase brand awareness and support integrated marketing communications campaigns.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 3+ years of communications or public relations experience developing, implementing and measuring communications plans and programs.

WE VALUE

  • Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing Communications, Political Science or Business

  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships with both internal and external audiences.

  • Excellent project management and the ability to simultaneously prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Fluency in emerging public relations practices and tactics, including social media channels, to drive thought leadership.

  • The ability to excel as part of a team or individually.

  • Positive attitude and willingness to embrace and drive change.

  • Ability to work effectively with leaders at different levels of the organization.

  • Experience working in large, complex organization with diverse products.

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with AP Style writing standards.
