Position Summary:
This position can be based in Charlotte or a Duke Energy facility in the Carolinas West region.
Delivers key Health, Safety, Human Performance, and common technical training courses applicable to 3+ business units.
Supports the Enterprise Training function in the areas of content procurement, live or virtual instruction, live or virtual facilitation, proficiency demonstration, and evaluation of learning.
Delivers training for topics including CPR/First Aid/AED, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Human Performance (HP), Asbestos, Trenching/Excavation, Root Cause Analysis, and other common topics applicable across multiple BUs.
Responsibilities
Facilitates and delivers Health and Safety, HP, and Common Technical training content to new hires and existing employees and provides performance support and feedback to supervisors.
Identifies issues, advises supervisor of status, and develops and executes plans of action to remedy, monitor, and control to minimize negative impact.
Provides performance support through training, coaching, and real-time feedback regarding trainee performance. Reports to supervision on team accomplishments, achievements, and productivity, and makes recommendations to supervision on performance evaluation, corrective action, and recognition.
Develops effective working relationships with customers and teammates to support a cohesive team effort.
Serves as a project resource on applicable projects related to internal or vendor training and provides status updates in accordance with approved work management processes.
Aids in the procurement, review, and revision of training content. Develop or revise training processes, specific to those related to delivery of content designed by Enterprise Training Instructional Systems Designers. Utilizes Division Business Processes.
Serves as a resource to supervision in the interpretation and application of products and services. Develops effective working relationships with peers (quality assessment/customer experience/business operations) and teammates to support a cohesive team effort.
Solves training problems by reviewing and analyzing situations, guidelines, precedents, and company trends and developing logical conclusions, and escalates more complex problems as needed. Proactively anticipates and articulates concerns related to project implementation.
Serve as functional subject matter expert of select health, safety, and human performance topics.
Basic/Required Qualifications
- High School/GED
Desired Qualifications
High School/GED and three years of work-related experience
Bachelor's degree
Demonstrated ability to lead classroom instruction
Demonstrated ability to facilitate instructor-led workshops
Demonstrated ability to teach/facilitate virtual workshops/classes
Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles
Demonstrated knowledge of principles, practices, policies, regulation, and current trends and events in the training environment internal and external to Duke Energy.
Ability to analyze and apply new training methods, applications, trends, and events impacting the field of adult learning.
Health and Safety technical experience which may include (CPR/FA, and other health and safety topics)
Facilitation/Teaching experience
Experience with administrative roles and reports within an LMS system or equivalent.
Working Conditions
Mobility Classification – Field - Field Work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period. However, field employees are required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location.
Must live within 1 hour of Duke Energy facility
A Company vehicle is provided for this position to travel to various sites.
Overnight travel is required.
Physical requirements -Lifting and moving supplies from vehicle to classrooms on a regular basis.
