Robert Half Collateral Analyst in Charlotte, North Carolina

Description

We are seeking an experienced Collateral Analyst III to join our Home Lending team. The successful candidate will underwrite Level 3 residential appraisal reports provided by third-party suppliers, ensuring compliance with company and investor requirements. This role involves analyzing appraisal reports, utilizing automated underwriting tools, and maintaining adherence to policy and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze complex property documentation, including low-to-moderate income loans and various loan structures (e.g., FHA, VA, HUD 184).

  • Review and approve loans within designated lending limits, ensuring compliance with guidelines and regulations.

  • Evaluate risk, address potential fraud exposure, and recommend counter-offers as necessary.

  • Resolve discrepancies identified by audits or quality control, ensuring loan file compliance with investor guidelines and federal regulations.

  • Maintain current knowledge of real estate and mortgage lending laws, trends, and market developments.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in reviewing collateral documentation and appraisals for compliance.

  • Maintain productivity and quality standards, prioritize workflows, and deliver results within required timeframes.

  • Provide excellent customer service and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in business preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mortgage lending/servicing or appraisal review.

  • Licensed or certified appraiser or equivalent underwriting experience preferred.

  • Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage high-pressure situations effectively.

  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulatory requirements is essential.

  • Government designations (e.g., VA LAPP, FHA DE) may be required.

Experience:

  • 5+ years as an appraisal reviewer, credit underwriter, or residential appraiser (or a combination equaling 10 years).

  • Experience in conventional, government, and jumbo mortgage underwriting is preferred.

  • DE certification required, with expertise in financial analysis and tax return assessments.
