Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team. You will play a vital role in maintaining the company's commitment to quality and accuracy, focusing on our Quality First initiative. Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean work environment at all times, following sanitation standard operating procedures.

  • Report any sanitation issues to the supervisor and maintain good general housekeeping practices throughout the facilities.

  • Participate in user training led by qualified staff members, including hands-on job training, material handling safe practices, Warehouse Management System (WMS) navigation, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) training.

  • Safely operate various material handling equipment such as sit down counter balance, deep reach truck, order selector, turret truck, and electric pallet jacks.

  • Utilize equipment in standard aisle, wire guided, and refrigerated configurations for tasks such as inbound trailer unloading, stock movement, cycle counting, stock picking, and outbound loading of trailers and LTL.

  • Follow WMS directions to complete daily activities using radio frequency (RF) equipment, pick-to-light technologies, or computer-based workstations.

  • Pick case quantities and build pallets, verify inventory levels through cycle count process in WMS, and prepare containers for shipping with appropriate packing materials.

  • Work in various areas of distribution including Receiving, assorted pick modules, Kitting, Shipping, Returns, DEA, freezer, refrigerated space, and Small Order Distribution (SOD).

Essential Skills

  • 1+ years of picking experience

  • Experience with RF scanners and their operation

  • Proficiency in basic math and counting

  • Basic computer and calculator skills

  • Experience in inventory, labeling, loading, and unloading

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to learn from mistakes

  • Demonstrates care and understanding of quality over quota/quantity

Work Environment

Our facility is very clean and not very loud, with climate control maintaining a comfortable 71 degrees year-round. Employees receive two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch. The pay period runs from Sunday to Saturday, and overtime on weekends is voluntary. Some tasks may involve working in a cold container (refrigerator) environment, with appropriate attire (no hooded or oversized jackets).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlestown, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00
