Iron Mountain’s Data Centers operate a global colocation platform that enables customers to build tailored, sustainable, carrier and cloud-neutral data solutions from single cabinets to wholesale data centers in 19 locations on three continents. We are seeking a high-performing Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate is based in North America. The individual is responsible for overseeing and driving various business and operational projects, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) integration projects, and change management initiatives to ensure they are effectively planned, tracked, reported, and completed in a timely fashion, within budget, and meeting expected outcomes. The Project Manager is a primary liaison between business and functional groups and responsible for the creation, organization, execution and completion of projects. This includes coordinating relevant team members, setting and meeting deadlines, communicating with stakeholders and company executives about the state of the project and decisions needed, and adjusting, if necessary, to meet new requirements of strategic projects and additional efforts.

The Project Manager role is critical to Iron Mountain Data Center's achievement of its growth objectives. Responsibilities include collaborating with business-centered groups such as finance, legal, accounting, HR, and local legal & compliance entities. The role also entails preparing for operational integration with Iron Mountain Data Center’s standard platforms and processes, running projects to improve EBITDA, scalability, customer satisfaction, operational improvement, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This individual is a leader and change ally with exceptional communication skills, broad business and technology understanding, expert project management capabilities, a passion for continuous improvement, and a global, inclusive mindset and approach.

As a valued member of the Program Management team for Data Centers, the Project Manager demonstrates best practices, and assists with enhancing playbooks, techniques, and tools to ensure success of future projects and the Program Management team.

This position is remote based in the USA. Prefer candidates located in the Eastern Standard Time Zone. US Citizenship Required.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects & initiatives to provide visibility on progress, risks, issues, and attainment of goals

  • Lead cross-functional, globally distributed teams in the successful execution of key projects, data center infrastructure and support.

  • Manage projects (from planning through execution) to ensure successful delivery in terms of scope, deliverables, and client satisfaction

  • Play the lead role in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing projects. They are accountable for the entire project scope, project team, resources, and the success or failure of the project

  • Key point of contact and subject matter expert for project information exchange with leadership and internal teams

  • Produce all relevant project management deliverables such as objectives and requirements, risk & issues logs, project plans, budgets, status reports, open issues logs, action items list etc.

  • Apply company and industry program and project management best practices with agility, ensuring processes, standards, and governance plans are effective and align with the data center’s mission, culture, and strategic priorities

  • Manage multiple simultaneous, on-going projects within tight deadlines

  • Develop and implement operational process, rationalization, and best practices that drive results for similar, future projects

Key Skills, Requirements and Competencies:

  • U.S. Citizenship Required

  • Bachelor’s degree desirable or career/experience equivalent

  • 5+ years of experience running complex global programs and projects, effectively leading across matrixed teams applying various methodologies and strategies

  • Experience managing data center operational projects is essential. Additionally, experience with mergers and acquisitions integration projects/programs will be a valuable asset.

  • Familiarity with data center facilities operations and/or data center colocation services

  • PMP, PRINCE2 AGILE certification desired; proficiency in common project planning tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet or web-based project management platform

  • Adept at helping team members harness and develop strengths in pursuit of successful program outcomes

  • Experience managing and motivating teams toward higher performance through project management methodologies and business & technological efficiencies

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and execution in rapidly changing environment with competing and shifting priorities

  • Successful in enacting change quickly and effectively with proven ability to drive change through influence and collaboration across a matrixed organization in a highly fluid environment; ability to influence ideas and present alternatives in a convincing fashion to a mixed audience, from peers to executives

  • A record of accomplishment as a decisive, action-oriented individual, who has led cross-functional global teams to define and achieve high value objectives

  • An exceptional communicator with exemplary writing skills and an innate ability to make very complex concepts, simple and intuitive

  • Travel may be required and is dependent on program/project needs
