The AECO (Architecture Engineering Construction and Operations) division of Autodesk is on the hunt for a rockstar Principal Privacy and Compliance professional to lead our privacy program. You'll be the privacy champion working hand-in-hand with product managers, engineers, and other cross-functional teams to weave privacy into the very fabric of our products and services.In this role, you'll be the mastermind behind our privacy policies, procedures, and practices, ensuring that Autodesk AECO is always in tip-top shape when it comes to data privacy regulations. As our go-to guru for all things privacy and data protection, you'll provide strategic guidance and support to teams across the AECO organization. Your mission? Responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate the organization’s privacy program, ensuring compliance with applicable global data privacy laws, including GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, etc.

Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other cross-functional partners to build privacy into our products and services, with an industry focused perspective

Conduct risk management activities such as supporting teams in the completion and review of privacy risk assessments, privacy audits, etc.

Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted partner on all matters related to privacy, data protection, security, etc.

Liaise regularly with legal teams to assess new data use cases from marketing, sales, analytics, customer success, etc., to ensure appropriate governance measures are in place

Provide guidance to customer engagement teams to facilitate timely responses to customer inquiries or concerns

Work with procurement and legal teams to ensure that third-party vendors and partners comply with privacy requirements through contract clauses, data processing agreements (DPAs), and regular privacy impact assessments

Regularly perform reviews on the organization’s privacy posture and report monthly metrics to leadership

Data Protection & Security

Collaborate with the various teams to ensure the protection of personal data through appropriate security controls, including encryption, access management, and secure data handling practices

Help oversee privacy measures within the SDLC as it relates key privacy principles such as privacy by design, data minimization, transparency and consent, security, and/or the use of AI. This may or may not include running tests for privacy vulnerabilities, leading development of user consent management protocols, and/or anonymization practices across the organization

Training & Awareness

Develop and deliver strategic guidance and training on advanced privacy topics such as industry-specific personal information use cases, use of geolocation data, logging, anonymization, and use of AI.

Foster a culture of privacy awareness within the organization by promoting privacy principles and supporting privacy initiatives across Autodesk

Provide guidance to customer engagement teams to facilitate timely responses to customer inquiries or concerns

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, Master’s or JD (Juris Doctor) is a plus

7+ years of experience in privacy, audit, compliance, or data protection roles, with a deep understanding of privacy laws and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.)

Extensive experience in privacy program coordination and implementation in a corporate environment, preferably within a highly regulated industry

Proven ability to collaborate effectively across legal, compliance, product/engineering, and business functions

Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or similar privacy certifications are highly desirable (e.g., CISM, CIPM, CISSP)

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $141,800 and $229,460. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
