The FCSD Cost Per Repair Specialist has responsibility for interfacing between Product Development/Quality and various SEO functions to identify and implement projects to reduce warranty cost per repair. The specialist will be assigned to a specific vehicle commodity.

This position is a hybrid opportunity, working 3 days a week on site in Allen Park, MI

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting delivery of the warranty cost per repair reduction efforts for Service Engineering Operations and Ford Customer Service Division

  • Analyzing, identifying, and implementing warranty cost per repair reduction actions, including working with cross-functional activities

  • Focused on early identification of issues

  • Championing for the voice of the dealer and customer

  • Supporting development of business cases and action plans for top issues or emerging issues

  • Authoring and publishing dealer communications related to warranty saving actions (SSM/TSB/GSB)

  • Working with the Warranty Assistance Team to identify & publish dealer communications and/or parts catalog updates around vehicle material cost reduction actions

  • Providing necessary warranty support to various engineering activities

  • Major interfaces include: Product Development (PD) Engineering, PD Quality, Assembly Plant Vehicle Teams (PVT), and various Service Engineering Operations (SEO) departments

You’ll have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Automotive Industry Experience and Knowledge

  • Strong problem solving ability

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with other areas of SEO, Engineers, Finance, Marketing, and management on a regular basis

  • Solid written & verbal skills to communicate project status and results on a regular basis

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong project management skills with the capability of organizing & managing numerous projects simultaneously from inception/feasibility, through implementation

Even better, if you have:

  • Previous Certified Automotive Technician & Dealership experience is preferred

  • Overall knowledge of vehicle systems & operations, and mechanical light repair procedures

  • Understanding of diagnostics and repair procedures
