Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Position requires high levels of confidentiality and discretion as student records will be viewed. A high degree of detail is required to check the academic preparation of applicants and make informed decisions. Focus and work shifts throughout the year so multitasking and shifting priorities is also required. Communication skills should be strong to communicate and advise on admission to the College of Charleston.

Strong interpersonal and writing skills including public speaking skills and ability to present The College in a positive way. Familiarity with word processing/database software. Ability to work independently and with a team. Additional Comments Regarding Position The College of Charleston is seeking an Admissions Representative to join the Office of Admissions recruiting team. As an admissions representative, you will support the recruitment team by planning and coordinating admissions presentations in a high school environment, working with prospective students throughout the application process, and evaluating application materials. Your responsibilities will take you out of the school office to college fairs and high school visits, and you will also be expected to complete work via telephone and online communication methods. The work may require you to meet with prospective students individually or in groups to answer questions about the application process, admission standards, and the benefits of attending the College of Charleston so that students can decide whether to apply or enroll.

  • Build relationships to encourage the most qualified prospective students to enroll
  • Assist new students with the enrollment process
  • Conduct information sessions
  • Assist with promotional events and marketing
