We are offering a unique opportunity for an Accounting Manager in the Real Estate industry. This position will be based in Charleston, South Carolina and will involve a range of responsibilities, from overseeing the application of accounting principles to assisting in budget development for management.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to analyze financial information, financial statements, and assist in budget development for management.

• Handle financial functions of treasury, accounts receivable, and platform level accounting.

• Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc., and present analysis.

• Oversee preparation of monthly corporate financials and present corporate performance metrics to VP, Corporate Accounting.

• Review journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.

• Review the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.

• Oversee resident management transactions and all required cash transfers.

• Establish and implement policies and procedures for treasury & AR functions including standardized wire processing, cash management, stop payments, and new account requests.

• Identify process improvement opportunities on an ongoing basis.

• Lead and participate in departmental projects and processes.

• Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP.

• Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors.

Requirements

• 10 years of experience in the field of Accounting, preferably within the Real Estate Property industry.

• Profound knowledge and hands-on experience with Accounting Software Systems is mandatory.

• Prior experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required.

• Familiarity with Auditing procedures and principles.

• Should have experience in managing Billing Functions.

• Must possess excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.

• Demonstrable leadership skills, capable of managing and supervising a team of accountants.

• Must have the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required, a Master's degree or CPA will be considered a plus.

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
