Job Description Summary

One of the pillars of the PT organization is the Product management function, taking care of the Product strategy. A dedicated Product leader is required for each product within Air Insulated Switchgear.

Job Description

STRATEGY:

  • Determine solutions: uses customer and market feedback to produce strategies and develop value propositions.

  • Understand industry trends, customer needs & growth opportunities for related segments.

  • Responsible for defining marketing strategies for assigned product line, includes Region sales organization partnerships to boost market penetration for all ITR products.

  • Program-manage the operationalization of strategy plans and key business initiatives incl. workstream and stakeholder management Identify and lead the in-depth business analysis of new and long-term strategic initiatives related to the portfolio.

  • Define product cost-out strategy

  • Develop product segment roadmap, including new product development, research pipeline and market/product support project strategy. Work with R&D teams to ensure alignment.

  • Propose partnerships, acquisitions to meet business growth initiatives.

  • Develops customer connections to link performance with customer expectations and demonstrates ownership of customer requirements.

  • Development of business cases for new product introductions or similar projects requiring investment decisions and based on market trends, customer requests and competition developments.

  • Support regions on product qualification, technical solution definition, engineering strategy and design audit. Centralize and enrich application libraries

  • Review / adapt delivery model in order to maximize the overall product profitability

PARTNER WITH:

  • Partner with GSC to ensure that manufacturing capabilities (quality, delivery model…) match customer and market growth requirements.

  • Owns NPI program management from wing-to-wing ensuring, including but not limited to product definition, market strategy, all NPI milestones and metrics, cross-functional leadership, and commercialization strategy to ensure successful product launches

  • Partner with NPI, Sales, Service and Distribution and other supporting functions to plan for new product introductions and product obsolescence.

TEAM MANAGEMENT:

  • Bring support to the commercial teams (technical support, product optimization…)

  • Coordinate and ensure alignment of market support, training and product priorities, and centrally driven commercial and marketing initiatives to product strategy and roadmap.

  • Manage tendering team / ensure optimized costing/ make sure tools are aligned / deployed on all sites. (AC1)

EXTERNAL:

  • Supports sales development activities related to the product portfolio, such as representing the portfolio in customer meetings, conferences, industry publications, blogs etc..

  • Through various channels, stay informed about the market and competitive situation.

  • Continually monitor key competitors - understand new product releases, price positioning shifts, manufacturing footprint changes, M&A interests.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university or college.

  • Visionary and Strategic thinker

  • Takes the initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity

  • Strong business knowledge of Electricity Transmission, Distribution, Industrial, Automation markets

  • Strong leadership experience in Instrument Transformers

  • Strong business & technical acumen. A strong interest in business development, commercial aspects is an essential component to be successful in this role

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and influential skills.

  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment; with diverse, global and cross functional teams

  • Fluent in English
