Kaleo Supports Direct Support Professional in Chapel Hill, North Carolina
The schedule for this position is 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. to 7 a.m., 7 days per week. There will be 4 staff, 2 for days and 2 for nights. One of these 2 will work 4 days per week, the other will work 3 and alternate week-ends. The same for night staff.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs
Assist individuals with daily activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
Implement behavior management strategies and support individuals in developing appropriate social skills
Monitor and document individual progress and behaviors
Collaborate with a team of professionals including nurses, social workers, and childcare providers
Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times
Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Experience:
Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required
Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
Familiarity with systems for documenting individual progress and behaviors
Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed
