Koniag Data Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Security Firewall Management Engineer to support KDS and our government customer. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Ensuring network of the customers continues to operate efficiently with no or minimum downtime
Troubleshooting Network security incidents
Install, configure and support network and firewall infrastructure within the region
Develop requirements for firewall rule implementation including source and destination IPs, Ports, Transport Protocol
Works with an experienced team of network engineers in performing vulnerability and fault analysis on enterprise perimeter devices, and developing and implementing system remediation and recovery plans
Enterprise network security solutions
Enterprise network security design standards
Identifying root cause of incidents and making appropriate recommendation to avoid future failure
Being proactive to anticipate issues or situations which impact service quality
Strictly following Move to Production process including checking that tools and documentation are up to date
Firewall Engineer Qualifications:
- Licensing or Certifications for Firewall Engineer: like - CCSE, CCNA, CISSP, CCNP, ITIL, CCSA, GCFW, GCIA, GSEC, IAT2
Education:
- A relevant degree such as Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Computer Science, Education, Engineering, Technical, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Security, Electrical Engineering, Computer
Desired skills for firewall engineer include:
IPS
VPNs
Firewall technologies
IDS
TCP and UDP protocols
SIEMs
Configuring Cisco switches
Network
Any IDPS applications is desired – Sourcefire
Experience for firewall engineer includes:
Lead and participate in group projects with global regional team members
Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) – Good to have
Cisco Certified Security Professional - Security (CCNP - Security) - Good to have
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems in a systematic and logical manner, and maintain good communications with all relevant parties throughout troubleshooting process
Demonstrates keen interest in continuous learning and professional development
Must be fluent in the English language with proficiency in written and verbal English communication skills
Ability to obtain a Public Trust
Working Environment & Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
