Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company , is seeking a Quality Assurance Tester to support KITS and our government customer. This is a Remote opportunity. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform functions relating to agile software engineering/programming (create/maintain source code), design, automated/manual unit testing and Integrated System Testing (IST), and maintenance of assigned applications/modules.

  • Analyze/refine systems requirements, determine and design system/application architecture, write/debug/maintain code, and develop/maintain system/application documentation in adherence to Appian best practices.

  • Provide application and environment engineering perspective when interfacing with Mission Partners/users.

  • Perform evaluation of new technology tools/methodologies, supporting application engineering, and provide technical advice to team, management, and Mission Partners/users.

  • Recommend the use of recognized standard system engineering best practices, resulting in improved supportability, survivability, reliability, and maintainability of program code and Appian platform.

  • Perform code quality assurance audits to ensure coding standards have been practiced and that the code is compatible across the application. Utilize various code analysis tools including HP Fortify to discover common issues, vulnerabilities, and guideline violations.

  • Perform manual code analysis to detect bugs, performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities and maintainability risks.

  • Maintain all source code within Azure DevOps or the Appian BPM Suite. All source code will be uploaded at the end of each business day to ensure no loss of work accomplished. Developer shall program code for applications utilizing the architecture, technologies, and standards as defined by the agile team and in compliance with all other applicable standards.

  • Perform required testing based upon Acceptance Criteria and Definition of Done, assuring software and systems quality and functionality.

  • Determine the feasibility of design alternatives, translate systems requirements into application prototypes, and develop problem resolutions.

  • Providing functional authority and functional knowledge expertise for assigned applications and performing assigned tasks for assigned applications.

  • Obtaining requirements from Mission Partners/users.

  • Identifying, defining, or modifying interfaces with other systems/applications, ensuring agreements are formally documented with the interfacing system/application.

  • Providing training resources/support to Mission Partners/users after pre-implementation.

  • Developing documentation based upon Agile Scrum best practices and the customer Service Delivery Model (SDM).

  • Supporting Production outages, as required.

  • Providing support to the development of the release packages.

  • Analyzing system requirements, converting functional design to detailed logic for coding into computer language for the assigned software systems, to include but not limited to, the system Modules and Components.

  • Reviewing each module as well as the system for design validity. This includes, but is not limited to, validation of record input, data elements and output reports.

Requirements:

  • Software Development Experience Designing Solutions Using Appian (2-4 Years)

  • Recent Development and Implementation of Application experience on the Appian BPM Suite (2 Years)

  • Mission Partner / Stakeholder Requirements Gathering (4 Years)

  • Interface Design / Documentation (4 Years)

  • Appian Certified Developer

  • Experienced in developing business integration process/integration solutions while leveraging protocols available in Appian

  • Hands on experience on Appian platform with working knowledge of Appian architecture

  • Experience in configuring, debugging, and systems integration including configuring forms, reports, underlying logic, and interface components as a developer (2 Years)

  • Agile Development Methodologies (2 Years)

  • Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills

  • Must be fully fluent in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel

  • BS Degree or Equivalent

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
