This is an On-Site role based out of our Laboratory located in Chantilly, VA.
PURPOSE OF JOB:
To Lead projects related to diagnostics laboratory in the areas of QA/QC, Molecular, Serology, Endocrinology, Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Parasitology Histopathology and proficiency Testing. To ensure consistent quality of diagnostics testing, to assist on validation of methods/assays, perform QA surveys and maintain good documentation and excellent lab/business practices. Responsible for Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions relating to diagnostics testing, lab safety, analytical testing, and instrumentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and conduct experiments to support, validate, and investigate issues pertaining, but not limited to, reagents, tests, and processes.
Initial review of Validation Data
Accurate data recording and counting, conduct testing of new reagents/kits
Conduct QC Monitoring using Themo Fisher, LabLink xL
Maintain positive interaction with all areas of the company
Provide Support to labs from a determined region and oversee all QA/QC activities to such labs
Investigate reasons for testing problems
Review and approve QC records
Assist in sample collection for validation/studies
Ensure compliance of SOP’s throughout the Diagnostics labs
Observe and evaluate facility for safety violations
Communicate QA/QC activities
Participate in continuous improvement projects.
Perform statistical analysis of varying data.
Maintain QA database and filling system.
Maintain accurate records with internal database.
Perform inspections of laboratories
Report occurrences of out-of-spec results to the QA Director in a timely manner.
Collect samples for validation studies
Perform analytical tests to support method/assay
Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
BA/BS in life science or other applicable field.
Minimum two years of bench tech
Minimum of 2 years of veterinary lab experience desired

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Capable of standing continuously for up to 2 hours
Extend and reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers
Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch
May be required to lift, move, and carry up to 20 lb.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Hearing ability to effectively communicate via the telephone and in person
Ability to communicate verbally on the phone and in person
Fluency in the English language
Extended hours may be needed
Ability to travel at least 25% of the time
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Laboratory environment with potential biohazards present
Use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards

The Target Pay Range for this position is $57,700-71,700 annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
