SAIC Link 16 Mission Engineering Lead in CHANTILLY, Virginia
Description
SAIC is seeking an experienced Link 16 Mission Engineering Lead for a proposal effort in support of the Space Development Agency (SDA). The Link 16 Mission Engineering Lead will provide expert guidance and technical leadership for the development, integration, and testing of Link 16 tactical data link systems. The successful candidate will leverage their extensive experience and knowledge of tactical data link standards, systems engineering, and integration processes to drive mission-critical efforts.
Note: This role can be located in Chantilly, VA; Huntsville, AL; Colorado Springs, CO; or El Segundo, CA
Responsibilities to include:
Guide engineering efforts for the development and integration of Link 16 systems, ensuring alignment with mission and program objectives.
Perform requirements engineering, including development, verification, and validation of system requirements.
Oversee the creation and maintenance of Interface Control Documents (ICDs) to ensure proper system communication and interoperability.
Conduct systems engineering and integration activities to address system performance, interoperability, and compliance with MIL-STD-6016, MIL-STD-3011, STANAG 5602, and other standards.
Utilize advanced tools and methodologies to perform system-level testing, trade studies, and evaluations of JTIDS, MIDS, TDMA, and other tactical data link components.
Provide expertise in the Joint Range Extension Applications Protocol (JREAP) and Standard Interface for Multiple Platform Link Evaluation (SIMPLE) frameworks.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of Link 16 systems within broader mission systems architectures.
Guide and support Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) activities to ensure system readiness for operational deployment.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.). Relevant experience to be substituted in lieu of degree.
Active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI Access
10 years of experience in Link 16 tactical data link systems engineering, focusing on development, integration, and testing.
Experience in Link 16, Tactical Data Links (TADIL-J), and associated standards such as MIL-STD-6016, MIL-STD-3011, and STANAG 5602.
Strong understanding of JTIDS, MIDS, TDMA, and related systems.
Knowledge of Joint Range Extension Applications Protocol (JREAP) and Standard Interface for Multiple Platform Link Evaluation (SIMPLE).
Proficiency in requirements engineering, system integration, systems testing, and development of ICDs.
