Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking an early career systems engineer in support of the GPI Program in our Chandler, AZ office.

The selected candidate will join the Systems Engineering team in developing the Glide Phase Interceptor concept to a PDR level. In this role a candidate can expect to work cross functionally with several IPTs to decompose top level system requirements into component level specifications while maintaining the fidelity of our Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tool suite.

System Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Development

  • Cross Functional Team Engagement and Leadership

  • Ownership of requirements decomposition process and systems engineering work product related to assigned IPT

  • CAMEO Model Management

  • This position maybe offered at the Engineer Systems Level 2 or at the Principal Engineer Systems Level 3. Basic Qualifications: If offered at the Engineer Systems Level 2 requires:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of experience,

  • U.S. Citizenship is required

  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope

  • Strong oral and written communication skill

  • Demonstrated Experience decomposing system level requirements into component specifications

  • Experience with IBM DOORS and Cameo

  • This role requires full-time on-site attendance during core business hours. Remote/Hybrid cannot be considered due to the requirements of the program.

  • If offered at the Principal Engineer Level 3 requires:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 1 years of experience.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required

  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope

  • Strong oral and written communication skill

  • Demonstrated Experience decomposing system level requirements into component specifications

  • Experience with IBM DOORS and Cameo

  • This role requires full-time on-site attendance during core business hours. Remote/Hybrid cannot be considered due to the requirements of the program.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • A strong experienced-based and academic foundation in Systems Engineering fundamentals

  • OCSMP Level 1 or Level 2 Certification

  • Aegis Weapon System Experience

  • Experience with RD&E Weapon System Development

Salary Range: $77,200 - $115,800

Salary Range 2: $95,300 - $142,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
