Applied Research Associates, Inc. Accounts Payable Lead in Champaign, Illinois
Description
ARA is seeking a driven, passionate professional to lead the accounts payable team in our office in Champaign, IL.
What you will do as the accounts payable lead:
Supervise a staff of three by planning accounts payable tasks, reviewing work product, evaluating performance, and scheduling and directing daily tasks and activities.
Ensure effective internal controls over division accounts payable functions.
Process vendor/employee payments in a timely manner.
Review travel & purchase logs
Review and verify employee travel and expense reimbursements for accuracy and compliance with ARA and customer policies
Supervise the processing of employee reimbursements for payment in a timely manner
Accurately enter general ledger (GL) codes and descriptions to company credit card expenses
Enter vouchers and journal entries into the Costpoint accounting system
Manage electronic accounts payable and report archives
Create data entry forms using MS Access
Review project budget spreadsheets for accuracy
Lead team meetings surrounding deadlines, goals, and projects the team supports
Accounts payable lead requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
2+ years of accounts payable experience; supervisory experience preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word; familiarity with Access and SharePoint preferred
Detail-oriented, proactive, and organized with a strong work ethic
Customer service focused with excellent time management and prioritization skills
