SpiriTrust Lutheran Director Clinical Services and Operations, Home Care & Hospice Franklin County in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania

SpiriTrust Lutheran is now hiring a Director of Clinical Services and Operations.

Education/Training:  Graduate of a school of nursing with a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state(s) served by SpiriTrust Lutheran Home Care & Hospice. Bachelor's Degree required. Master's degree in nursing or other health related field preferred

Experience:  A minimum of four (4) years of experience in management and supervision in a health care setting -- preferably in a community health agency. 

Skill(s):  Proficient reading, writing and grammatical skills; proficient in interpersonal relations and communication skills, including pleasant telephone manner and speaking voice; ability to work independently and to establish and maintain effective working relationships; knowledge of currently acceptable practice; knowledge of home health and/or hospice regulations; working knowledge of computer operations and ability to learn specialized industry applications; effective leadership and supervisory skills; strong professional presentation/public speaking skills; valid driver's license and dependable means of transportation.

General Responsibilities:

Contributes to, supports and fosters the overall success of the organization through effective leadership activities including but not limited to:

  1. Develops and evaluates strategic and operating goals and implements strategies designed to achieve those goals.
  2. Actively pursues knowledge in areas of expertise and keeps current on regulatory and legal issues, best practice protocols for the agency programs and management skills.
  3. Contributes knowledge, judgement and experience to the decision making process of the executive team and in all activities undertaken on behalf of the organization.
  4. Acts as a resource person in areas of expertise.
  5. Participates in and/or facilitates committees as assigned which may include but is not limited to Boards of Directors, Policy Review, Staff and Team Meetings, IDG, etc.
  6. Leads in the formulation, implementation and periodic review and evaluation of policies, procedures and other principles and practices governing Home Health, Hospice, In-Home Support and LIFE.
  7. Leads and models appropriate adherence to all internal policies, procedures and practices, laws, licensure and regulatory requirements; ensures that all support personnel adhere to the same.
  8. Understands the need for effective and efficient utilization of staff and contract personnel and maintains productivity according to agency standards.
  9. Promotes a culture of excellence, supporting focused improvement initiatives to meet or exceed key benchmarks as determined by the agency.
  10. Assures the availability of qualified staff who have been properly trained to perform their assigned duties and who perform those duties in an effective manner that aligns with the organization's mission, vision and values.
  11. Assuring effective operations and integration of the Admission Care department.
  12. Develops budgetary goals for, and works in cooperation with, the accounting department to develop a realistic budget for the organization.
  13. Monitors use of resources and plans for program(s) in such a way as to assure financial stability and long term success of the organization.
  14. Negotiates contracts and agreements and provides oversight of those contracts as needed.
  15. Contributes to, participates and cooperates in the implementation of marketing, public relations and development strategies to facilitate growth.
  16. Assumes duties according to the Delegation of Authority Procedure.
