Job Description:

If you’re a Quality Control Supervisor looking for a challenge, then Parson’s has a challenge for you. In this role you will oversee the construction quality activities for the AFH FY24 Family Housing Replacement Project in Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.

This is an exciting design and self-performing construction project with unique logistical and weather condition challenges at U.S. Army Garrison-Kwajalein Atoll (USAG-KA), Republic of the Marshall Islands. The project involves design and construction of 26 dwelling units some of which will be modifiable for handicap accessibility. The project also includes design and construction of transformer vaults as required to serve the new residences. Prior experience with trade labor subcontractor support and US Army Corps of Engineers or other military construction projects will help you to be successful with this project.

Must have a* bility to relocate and work on long-term assignment at Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Maintains clear and concise work standards and goals, and provides training and development.

  • Conducts performance evaluations and makes appropriate recommendations for required actions, including recommendations for advancement, changes in status, or disciplinary action.

  • Works with Quality Control Manager in providing leadership for Quality Control support activities for assigned program(s) or project(s) to ensure that products or services provided meet customer and Parsons’ requirements.

  • Implements inspection, examination, and testing procedures and records inspection, examination, and testing data.

  • Assists with development of preventative maintenance schedule and provide inspection support as required.

  • Maintains inspection and NCR logs.

  • Reviews quality records/documents for correctness and completeness.

  • Plans inspections, evaluations, and tests; setting up tests, including preparation and set-up of related equipment.

  • Evaluates the validity and acceptability of inspection, examination and testing results and reports inspection, examination and testing results.

  • Performs and documents inspections of subcontractor work.

  • Oversees subcontractor inspections and review of subcontractor work. Reviews and audits subcontractor generated quality records.

  • Performs First-Article / In-Process Inspection as needed (may include source inspection).

  • Ensures QC inspectors follow the HSE requirements applicable for their work scope.

  • Participates in establishing and implementing a Quality Controls Inspectors certification program.

  • Participates in qualifying and certifying QC Inspectors at all levels.

  • Assures inspection results are documented and communicated in a clear and concise manner.

  • Understands contract requirements and subcontractor(s) contract requirements.

  • Performs other functions associated with this position as appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Math, Quality or related field and typically 8+ years related construction experience or a High School/Trade School diploma and equivalent experience of at least 12+ years is required,

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or lead capacity required.

  • ASQ, CMQ or CMQ/OE preferred.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Ability to get Quality Control Inspector Certification required within 12 months of employment.

  • Be certified to perform activities in one or more of the following areas (or subjects): Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Instrumentation and Controls, Civil, Structural, Architectural, HVAC, Welding, Non-Destructive Examination, Receiving, and Special Processes.

  • Requires the ability to communicate clearly and interface effectively with a diverse group of professionals.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate to all levels of the company.

  • Proficient in data collection, analysis and presentation.

  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Access. Requires proficiency in the use of computers and software packages needed to support the documentation, analysis and retention of quality records.

  • Requires leadership and supervisory ability
