Community Education Program Supervisor

EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for 62,888 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Community Education Program Supervisor to work part time for the Child Advocacy Center- Enrichment program.

The position Community Education Program Supervisor is a non-exempt position with a salary range of $35 per hour. Flexible hybrid schedule of 25 hours per week with in the operating schedule of Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM. The office is located in Central Islip, NY. The role reports to the Division Director.

Primary Purpose of Job:

The Child Advocacy Center Community Education Program Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the community education department and working collaboratively with the Division Director to ensure program goals and objectives are met.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The Program Supervisor oversees the planning, development, and management of educational, awareness, and outreach initiatives conducted by the Child Advocacy Center's community education department.

  • Maintain regular and thorough communication with program partners to ensure alignment of goals strategies and expectations.

  • Gain a thorough understanding of child abuse prevention curricula, such as Child Safety Matters and Monique Burr training materials, to ensure effective delivery of presentations to target audiences in both school and community settings.

  • Promote training opportunities and workshops offered by the Child Advocacy Center's community education department.

  • Engage in outreach to social services providers, schools, community members, and relevant organizations in Suffolk County to deliver training and distribute awareness materials.

  • Provide supervision and support to staff, ensuring that all community education and outreach services are offered in a manner that is developmentally, age, and linguistically appropriate.

  • Collaborate with the program evaluator to maintain program statistics, analyze data, and submit reports to funder per grant requirements.

  • Travel to various locations around Suffolk County to conduct in-person training.

  • Participate in team meetings, MDT case conferences, agency presentations, trainings, and related events.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

  • Bachelors Level degree in Social Work, Mental Health or Behavioral Sciences required. Masters preferred.

  • Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) preferred.

  • Community education experience and experience working with children preferred.

  • Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as Google drive applications, Microsoft Offce applications, calendar, and email.

  • Knowledge of Child Abuse, Child Sexual Abuse and reporting requirements preferred.

  • Excellent presentation skills, experience providing presentations a plus.

  • Evening and weekend end flexibility required.

  • Must have NYS driver’s license and access to an automobile.
