Job Title: Controller

Job Description

The Controller is responsible for the oversight and accuracy of the month-end accounting function, financial statement preparation, quarterly and year-end audit requests, equity compensation management, treasury management, and special projects. This role focuses on all functions within the organization, advising them of current budgetary information and collaborating with managers to ensure adherence to a fiscal strategy that aligns with the organization's goals.

  • Responsible for all company accounting processes and functions, including timely and accurate recording and reporting of all financial transactions and system reconciliations.

  • Takes ownership of compiling accurate financial information in quarterly and year-end SEC financial statements and other SEC filings throughout the year.

  • Completes the monthly and quarterly balance sheet and income statement analytics.

  • Facilitates the quarterly reviews and year-end audit requests and assists with external auditor questions.

  • Leads stock compensation process to ensure complete recordkeeping of all grants, issuances, and other transactions.

  • Manages cash forecasting, with assistance from AR manager and the rest of the accounting team, to determine prioritization of payments and identify opportunities to best utilize cash to benefit the organization.

  • Identifies opportunities to automate and streamline routine activities to run the organization more effectively.

  • Continuously improves the accounting function, including team development, resource allocation, budget management, and company-wide cost savings opportunities.

  • Recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates department staff members.

  • Maintains and enforces internal controls.

  • Assists in the development of technical accounting memos for routine or non-routine transactions.

  • Documents all accounting processes in accordance with GAAP.

  • Supports CFO for board of directors and audit committee reporting requirements and requests, including presentations to the audit committee.

Job Type/Work Environment

  • This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

  • Hybrid in Centennial office, 2 days in office, 3 days remote. Mondays are mandatory in-office day, with one other day of your choice.

  • Managing a team of 9.
