GKN Automotive Prevention Quality Engineer in Celaya, Mexico

Role Purpose :

It is responsible for guaranteeing the client the products that meet the expected quality, creating, implementing and/or managing systems, procedures, audits, etc. It includes the responsibility of monitoring compliance with customer requirements, monitoring performance with customers, monitoring audit processes, analyzing statistical information, leading product quality improvement plans that contribute to the development of better quality processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures customer satisfaction based on delivery of products that meet quality standards.

  • Attends to customers in case of reported problems, responding in time.

  • Ensure that products supplied to the customer meet design specifications by monitoring adherence to the quality system.

  • Ensures compliance to the GKN Quality System (Driveline Excellence System).

  • Ensures that Customer requirements are met by contemplating and monitoring them through DES.

  • Resolves problems using methodologies correctly and in an orderly manner. E.g. QRQC, A3, etc.

  • Promotes within the organization a culture of excellence in Quality, Safety and Environmental issues.

  • Ensures systematic escalation and resolution of customer complaints.

  • Ensures that countermeasures to plant Quality issues and assure that the lessons learned applied and implement read across.

  • Inform the organization of any relevant customer related situations.

Experience and essential qualifications:

✓ Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, Metallurgy, or similar.

✓ 3 years minimum as a Quality Engineer within the automotive industry or related position.

✓ Experience applying Core Tools.

✓ Advanced English, able to maintain a fluent conversation in English.

Essential competences:

  • Leadership.

  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 and VDA specification.

  • Statistical process control.

  • Core Tools.

  • Customer specific requirements

  • Machine and tool operating concepts.

  • Resource management

  • Lean Enterprise knowledge

  • Area manufacturing processes (assembly and machining).

  • Problem solving techniques (QRQC).

  • Automotive customer quality systems.
