In this role you will be part of the Operations Excellence Team, providing technical and strategic support to the Navigation Sensor Systems (NSS) Manufacturing Operations organization. The position will support the Microelectronics, Surface Mount Technology (SMT), Product Assembly & Test, and Warehouse/Logistics process areas providing both strategic and hands on support to advance manufacturing strategies. This role will provide technical guidance and leadership via:

  • Research of industry trends, identifying strategic areas for process automation and technology advancement. Hands on design, development and execution of automation projects as needed.

  • Lead and assist the execution and capital equipment projects through effective project management.

  • Lead the NSS site Technical Advanced Manufacturing Strategies and Capabilities Roadmap.

  • Lead the sustainment and improvement of Industry 4.0 connected factory initiatives including support of hardware and networking for data exchange within the factory.

  • Creation of facility and work cell level Capacity and Staffing modeling and forecasting for the factory.

  • Evolution and advancement of the site Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and associated tools for NSS manufacturing processes.

  • Serve as the Operations level focal point for Design To Unit Production Cost (DTUPC) for circuit card and unit assembly providing direct feedback to reduce assembly costs for new programs.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 5-8 years work experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of electronics manufacturing processes such as Microelectronics, Surface Mount Technology & Circuit Card Assembly, Product Assembly & Test.

  • Proven ability to lead, collaborate, and build relationships across multiple teams and departments.

  • Experience with the research, justification and implementation of capital equipment projects.

  • Working knowledge of automation/robotics hardware and associated software systems.

  • Strong Project Management skills.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in STEM.

  • 8 years plus experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Working knowledge of Simulation software tools; experience with creation and maintenance of manufacturing capacity and staffing models.

  • Working knowledge of IT networking, communication protocols, SQL databases, connected factory communication languages (Java, Python or C , PLC).

  • Working knowledge of automation tools such as Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm (SCARA)/Collaborative robot systems, control systems/PLC s.

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience or certifications.

  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP/Oracle) tools is a plus.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $118504 - $201457

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
