Guest Services Event Coordinator
Guest Services Event Coordinator oversees the day-to-day events in the Hunter Alumni Center, and those external community events scheduled on the SUU campus. This includes interfacing with key campus individuals as part of the event management team, as well as clients, students, and general public. This full-time professional position will have responsibility for limited after-hours, large events needing additional oversight. They will assist in the oversight of student employee coordinators, building managers, including oversight of the student event work schedule. This position is also responsible for customer billing, including Facility Use Agreements, estimates/invoices and insurance documentation.
This individual will work directly with the Manager of Guest Services, and a team of student employees in ensuring excellent customer service to all constituents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the oversight and implementation of the day-to-day events in the Hunter Alumni Center and those external community events scheduled on the SUU campus.
• Oversight of agreements, customer insurance documentation, estimates and invoices, for Guest Services.
• Work directly with Facilities Management teams and others to ensure open communication with event execution.
• Assist Guest Services Manager in the hiring, training, and supervising of student employees.
• May require evening and weekend work for large events needing additional oversight.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or at least five years strong work history in a relevant customer service environment.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate and deal effectively in person, over the phone, and via written communication with faculty, staff, students and general public.
• Strong work ethic and a demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team.
• Possess a high degree of attention to detail and be well organized and efficient, while managing multiple projects.
• Strong customer service skills, including maintaining a professional and personable demeanor.
• Fluent knowledge of Microsoft and Google software platforms.
• Ability to learn other campus computer applications (Banner, Quickbooks and Ad Astra Scheduling).
• Supervisory experience a plus.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
