Summary

The Inventory Controller is responsible for monitoring and controlling all plant wide production activity to ensure appropriate levels of inventory accuracy and that it supports all goals. This includes the inventory of raw materials, work in process, and finished goods through cycle counting. This role is also responsible for making any changes or corrections to ensure product is in accurate ranges as well as accurate new product costing. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, problem solver who utilizes knowledge and understanding as well as a strong work ethic to ensure all inventory control specifications and quality are met.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for verifying any deviation from predetermined bill of material on the work order.

  • Material request verification and validation - ensuring that materials are captured correctly, and work orders are modified to capture changes

  • Ensure revision parts are delivered to the correct teams and any parts removed via revision are reclaimed to inventory

  • Work with leads and planning to ensure that parts are on the correct operation or subsequent work order

  • Responsible for part location and quantity validation.

  • Cycle counts performed consistently, and variances tracked and verified to maintain correct QOH

  • Location audits and consolidation - to ensure that location reflects accurately and quantity by location is maintained correctly supporting cycle count accuracy and kitting efficiency

  • Responsible for auditing receipts regularly to ensure procedural adherence is consistent and identifying potential mistakes and opportunities.

  • Daily random receipt audits - supporting the receiving team and identifying potential mistakes and opportunities

  • Responsible for auditing kitting processes daily to ensure all materials are captured and pulled from the correct location.

  • Verifying location accuracy during the kitting process

  • Validating transfers and backflushes daily to eliminate negatives and kit shortages

  • Responsible for verifying any quantities or issues or any additional tasks identified by the Buy Planner, Lead, or Supervisor to ensure the continued progress toward the goal of 100% inventory accuracy.

  • Responsible for communicating with kitters to track shortages and communicating those shortages to Project Managers and Purchasing.

  • Other duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of 1 year previous inventory experience required; manufacturing setting preferred.

  • General math, problem solving, and analytical skills required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Extensive knowledge of all inventory-related procedures and system transactions strongly preferred.

  • Proficient in creating and using Excel spreadsheets to support position activities required.

  • Good organizational and follow-up skills required.

  • Extreme attention to detail required.

  • Detailed knowledge of product lines and production processes associated with each strongly preferred.

  • Ability to perform daily clerical tasks associated with reviewing production, receiving, and shipping data for accuracy required

  • Strong computer skills required, including Microsoft Office applications. ERP (Epicor) experience desired.

  • Forklift and/or crane certification required.

  • Must understand and follow all safety and quality policies and procedures.

  • Willingness to partake in additional schooling upon request.
