About the Role:

The role of the Track Maintenance Technician is to support all levels of routine maintenance and repair for Track Test Features, grounds maintenance, material handling, and project work within a test facility to ensure vehicle testing continues safely, accurately, and without interruptions. This work requires the utilization of various hand tools and hardware, and heavier equipment may be required.

Periodically the Track Maintenance Technician will support projects like earthmoving, grading, new construction, etc.

Perform daily routines to prepare all Track Test Features. Tasks may include blowing off roadways, brooming/sweeping of gravel/rocks/dirt from roadways, collecting debris from roadways for disposal, etc.

"Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.

Perform regularly scheduled inspections of roads, roadways, and Track Test Features to ensure safe and proper functionality. Activities may include checking water systems, air systems, drain systems, irrigation systems, well drip oil, fluid and chemical levels, road integrity, wireless communications devices, lighting systems, weeds and pest invasion, traffic control signage, etc."

Support weekly grooming/maintenance of specialty test features by removing wasted aggregate, ripping surfaces, and reseeding with fresh aggregate utilizing heavy equipment.

Perform general grounds Preventative Maintenance for activities such as mowing of vegetation/weeds or material handling tasks.

Periodically, complete maintenance requests in order to directly support vehicle testing activities. Primary responsibility for application of water or other materials to a roadway or other test surface before and after testing.

Other duties as assigned.

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.

Qualifications

HS Diploma/GED

General plumbing and electrical experience, concrete forming, data collection, etc.

Mathematical Ability, Verbal Comprehension and Communication Skills.

Perform manual/physical essential functions of the position; meet scheduling requirements; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, supervisors, and user departments.

Valid Driver's License

Read blueprints/schematic, take measurements (SAE and Metric)

Test Track experience, preferred.

"Tools used may include: hammer, screwdrivers, drills, measuring devices (SAE and Metric), gas powered line trimmers, backpack blowers, chainsaws, 185 CFM mobile air compressor, submersible pumps, etc.

Routine maintenance work would include inspecting test equipment, blowing/sweeping roadways, logging meter and measurement readings, checking air pressurized water systems, testing and adjusting irrigation sprinkler heads, checking water systems, well pumps up to 450HP/1000 GPM, plumbing, electrical valves/solenoids, switches (loop detectors, etc.), concrete/asphalt integrity, weed control, general landscaping, handyman and painting, material handling, etc. "
