The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Power Platform Administrator to manage and oversee the entire Microsoft Power Platform environment within our organization. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to be responsible for user access control, environment management, capacity planning, data governance, security policies, and ensuring the platform operates efficiently and securely. The primary tools used are Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate and CoPilot Studio.
The Team
Black & Veatch’s Business Enablement consists of critical groups that help enable the organizations people, projects, and businesses to be as successful as possible. Functions in this group include Digital & Information Technology, Global Finance, Global Human Resources, Legal, Risk Management, and Government Affairs and Real Estate and Building Services.
Key Responsibilities
User and Access Management:
Creating and managing user accounts with appropriate Power Platform permissions.
Assigning security roles and managing data access levels within environments.
Environment Management:
Setting up and managing multiple Power Platform environments for development, testing, and production.
Monitoring environment health, performance, and capacity.
Data Governance:
Implementing data loss prevention (DLP) policies to protect sensitive data.
Defining data quality standards and ensuring data integrity across Power Platform applications.
Security and Compliance:
Configuring security settings to meet organizational compliance requirements.
Monitoring for potential security risks and implementing necessary safeguards.
Licensing Management:
- Tracking and managing Power Platform licenses across the organization.
Platform Administration:
Managing connectors and data sources used within Power Platform applications.
Troubleshooting technical issues related to Power Platform usage.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
Working with Power Users and developers to understand their requirements and provide technical support.
Educating users on best practices for using Power Platform tools.
Management Responsibilities
Acts in capacity of a "lead person." Does not have management responsibility for the people to whom they provide work direction.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong understanding of Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, CoPilot Studio)
Experience with data management and data governance concepts
Knowledge of Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and security best practices
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users

Application Administration:
Experienced with many of the functions of application administration which consists of application suitability, installation/deployment requirements, system requirements, basic deployment scenarios and support methodologies.
Script Development:
Understands coding and program flow. Develops scripts to enhance application deployment, administration, and support methodologies.
Relational Data Management Systems:
Write queries, creates tables, and does some data architecture.
Has working knowledge of Network Architecture
Minimum Qualifications
In addition to the education requirements, four to six years related experience.; Bachelor degree Computer Science or related field OR equivalent work experience

Typical office environment with a hybrid work schedule: 3 days in office and 2 days remote
