Job Title: Mechanical Field Engineer or Mechanical Project Manager
Job Description
The role of the Project Engineer is crucial to the direction, management, and core services of our company. As a Mechanical Field Engineer, you will play a leadership role in growing our existing and in-development services and solutions. You will lead project teams and collaborate with clients to improve the safety and efficiency of ventilation systems in laboratories and critical workspaces. You will provide strategic direction and technical expertise on projects from concept to completion.
Responsibilities
Lead project teams to design and implement solutions for laboratory and critical environment HVAC systems.
Collaborate with clients to enhance the safety and efficiency of ventilation systems.
Provide strategic direction and technical expertise from project initiation to completion.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
Travel to various client locations (estimated 25% travel) primarily within the United States.
Develop and coach team members to support their skill and career development.
Prepare reports and documentation related to field engineering activities.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience as a project engineer or manager.
Professional Engineer (PE) certification is desired.
Significant experience working with laboratory/critical environment HVAC systems, building controls, and energy management.
Proven abilities in problem-solving, results orientation, conceptual thinking, decision making, and teamwork.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in mechanical engineering design, project management, HVAC engineering, and construction management.
Ability to develop a team and provide coaching to support skill and career development.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge through continuous learning and engagement in professional societies.
Work Environment
The individual will work out of the North Carolina office, but the role involves significant site and field engineering activities. The position requires traveling to different sites for project implementation and working in the office for reporting and documentation purposes.
