This Chemical Process Engineer III role will be in the Parker Lord APS Division based in Cary, NC. This role will be the process engineering lead on one or more product development projects of medium to high complexity. This role is in a pilot plant and chemical laboratory environment, working on medium-term to multi-year projects for global customers and manufacturing sites. This role is expected to successfully commercialize new products that meet the customer's and manufacturing plant's expectations. This person is accountable for their personal and process safety, ethics, quality, development, and results. The incumbent will collaborate with Parker Lord operators, technicians, manufacturing, leaders, product developers, business personnel, and other sites around the globe.

Technical lead on product development projects of medium to high complexity. Successfully projects would commercially launch and meet customers' and manufacturing plant's expectation.
Engage often with team members in business, manufacturing, global regions, and technology.
Follow the safety, ethics, and quality procedures for the company and the department, while also leading their them to do the same.
Some travel is expected (typically less than 20%).
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and/or Material Science or related field is required.
Required Experience:
Bachelor's Degree with 5 yrs of experience, Master's Degree with 4 years of experience or PhD with 0 years of experience required.
Preferred experience in a chemical manufacturing facility, especially manufacturing polymeric materials.
Other Qualifications:
Track record of completing medium complexity projects and can lead high complexity projects or multiple projects of various complexity.
Ability to lead portions or a major project as a team member. Failure to obtain goals would typical result in serious project delays and considerable expenditure of resources. Independently lead FMEA process. Leading an advanced engineering trail at a critical customer.
Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to development of new principles and concepts within Parker Lord. Advanced knowledge of products/chemistry, industry, detailed customer application, troubleshooting, failure analysis, or detailed value proposition elements. A knowledge resource for their team. SME in one or more subjects.
Track record of implementing technical solutions to a wide range of highly complex problems. Solutions should generate intellectual property (patents, trade secrets) for Parker Lord. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practical and consistent with organization objectives. Advanced design and execution of any set parameters. Advanced data analysis, report generation. Expert understanding and utilization of engineering tools, methods, processes (FMEA, Process Audits, troubleshooting)
Works with limited direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self - initiated. Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desires results.
Can represent the organization as prime technical contact on projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
Can coach and mentor less experienced personnel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience and proficiency in process control technology, with a track record of successfully identifying, championing, implementing, and maintaining Process Automation Systems.
Experience working with one more more of the following control systems: ABB 800xa, Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell TDC / Experion, Schneider Foxoboro and Siemens PCS7.
Experience and proficiency in CFD and fluid mechanics simulations.
