Job Summary/Objective:

The Facility Services Director will lead two critical support teams that exist to satisfy facility and machining requests by their internal customers. The General Services Group provides project and routine maintenance activities that repair, sustain, or improve Southwire corporate and facility assets and support systems. The Machine Services Group provides machining operations that typically create or repair components and systems critical to the manufacturing facilities. To be effective in this role, the Director should have a working knowledge of facility systems maintenance requirements in addition to extensive exposure to machine shop operation, preferably in a supervisory capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct each facility support team, General Services and Machine Services, to provide cost effective support to all Southwire customers. Provide project support by both teams as requested.

• Lead performance management initiatives to recognize achievement and areas requiring development. Assess team skills and competencies to determine bench strength in advance of succession planning.

• Enforce SAP utilization to capture all time and material expenditures. Analyze performance to close gaps due to unfavorable variances.

• Transition each team’s culture from reactive to proactive with good planning and scheduling practice.

• Ensure resource utilization is acceptable and easily demonstrated in SAP.

• Provide salesmanship of team capabilities to establish a ‘preferred supplier’ relationship with corporate and plant procurement team members.

• Drive effective activities in leading the organization in their transformation to a diverse, equitable and inclusive work force.

• Demand adherence to an effective escalation plan.

• Introduce technological improvement opportunities to advance and improve team capability and cost effectiveness to the customer.

• Increase machining output of team by developing and adhering to a workflow for identifying, re-engineering, and creating selective OEM spare parts.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's

Years of Experience: 15Field of Expertise: A minimum of 5 years of previous facility maintenance management experience required.

Preferred

Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's

Years of Experience: 15Preferred Field of Expertise: Technical degree from a 4-year accredited university preferred.

Other Preferred Skills, Licenses, & Certificates:

• Prior machine shop leadership experience.

• Supervisory experience and accountability over large teams (> 30 team members).
