Dignity Health Trauma Program Manager in Carmichael, California

Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center is a 370-bed not-for-profit Level 2 Trauma Center located in Carmichael California serving the areas of north Sacramento County and south Placer County for more than 50 years. Responsibilities

The Trauma Program Manager coordinates and facilitates all components of the Level II Trauma Center at Mercy San Juan Medical Center to meet all American College of Surgeons, Title 22 and other regulatory requirements. This includes programmatic, clinical care delivery, multidisciplinary Performance Improvement programs, education, and budget coordination. Incumbent achieves these responsibilities through positive collaborative interaction with the Trauma Medical Director, Mercy San Juan Medical Center staff, managers and administration and non-staff member trauma care providers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assure compliance with current standards, evidenced based medicine, attend/monitor trauma resuscitations and attend trauma rounds as scheduling permits.

  • Coordinate trauma-related education, teach formally and informally based on identified needs. Foster interest in trauma knowledge throughout the clinical and ancillary departments.

  • Annually evaluate PI plan, monitor indicators and follow through with planned solutions.

  • Assure ongoing measurement, trending and reporting of findings are communicated with appropriate departments and committees.

  • Maintain, disseminate and evaluate Trauma Registry information.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Current CA RN licensure and AHA BLS

  • BSN

  • 4 years recent clinical and managerial experience in critical care, emergency or trauma services

  • 2 years experience in a Trauma system environment

  • Experience in:

  • Trauma system registry development or maintenance

  • Experience in educational program planning and presentation

  • Experience in planning and implementing quality improvement projects

  • Actively involved in professional organizations related to trauma nursing

  • Familiarity with regulation of trauma systems in CA

  • Understanding of Sacramento County trauma plan

  • Knowledge of American College of Surgeons criteria for verification of trauma centers

  • Documented continuing education in trauma care per ACS requirements

Preferred:

  • Trauma program development experience

  • PALS/ENPC, BCLS and ACLS instructor

  • CCRN and or CEN

  • Master’s degree

  • TNCC and instructor course within 1 year of hire

  • ATCN (Advanced Trauma Care Nurse) instructor within 2 years of hire

Pay Range

$69.04 - $89.19 /hour
