MISO Energy Manager/Senior Manager Facilities Strategy and Management in Carmel, Indiana

Location: Carmel, Indiana

As MISO’s Manager/Senior Manager Facilities Strategy and Management, you will lead the facilities team, operational functions, and contracted support for all facilities, employees, and customers enterprise wide. You’ll develop and lead long-term strategic facility plans, including planned maintenance and strategic changes in facilities to support modern trends in line with MISO’s business strategy. You’ll also collaborate with business partners to develop and implement MISO’s real estate portfolio strategy. You will negotiate and manage the contracted outsourced Facility Service Agreements including scope of services, contracted personnel, budget, and service performance. You will engage and support all customer levels, while managing a team that provide support and exceptional service across critical electrical infrastructure facilities in Indiana, Minnesota, and Arkansas. You’ll enable reliable, secure, and efficient operations. lead 24 x 7 x 365 facilities support, and plan for and meet transformational business needs.

Your responsibilities as the Manager/Senior Manager Facilities Strategy and Management include:

  • Overseeing the environment across MISO facilities and third-party service providers and staff to keep facilities reliable, secure, and efficient.

  • Developing best practices that are consistent within the Critical Infrastructure sector to support and minimize operational and security facilities risk.

  • Identifying and continually evaluating building management system and software solutions.

  • Coordinating and collaborating with the Crisis Management Team and Emergency Response Team to mitigate risk and ensure business continuity.

  • Providing strategic direction, guidance, and oversight of the long-term Facilities strategic plan and operations 10-year plan.

  • Providing direction and guidance regarding Facility Management Systems (FMS) and Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS) to ensure performance of maintenance activities.

  • Ensuring development and regular reporting of metrics that align with achievement of long-term enterprise strategies to meet business expectations.

  • Coaching, mentoring, training and managing employee performance.

To be successful as MISO’s Manager/Senior Manager Facilities Strategy and Management , we’re looking for the following skills/experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in, Business Administration, Facility Management, or related field or equivalent experience required and a minimum of 10-12 years relevant work experience, and four (4) to six (6) years management experience required.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, train, mentor, and manage employee performance

  • 24x7x365 on-call experience.

  • Demonstrated experience providing strategic direction, guidance, and oversight of long-term Facilities strategic and operations planning.

  • Experience providing real estate subject matter expertise and market awareness

Additional experience in the following areas is highly preferred:

  • International Facility Management Association (IFMA) certifications as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Sustainability Facility Professional (SFP), or similar

  • Project Management certifications through International Association of Project Managers (IAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar

  • Understanding of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements to comply with standards.

  • Understanding of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements to comply with standards.

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
