Facility Operations Specialist - TRMSA System Operator

Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as aFacility Operations Specialist - TRMSA System Operatorto join our team located in Carlsbad, NM.

The successful candidate must complete position qualifications. Apply basic knowledge of equipment and maintenance of equipment and assist the Facility Operations Shift Engineer. Provide operational support to technical work crews. Maintain applicable operating procedures. Perform routine administrative duties, such as development of purchase requisitions, training materials and completions of operating logs and records. Fill the role of TRMSA operator while assisting with other site duties. Must be able to obtain and maintain Emergency Response Team training and qualifications standards and respond to emergencies. Must be able to obtain and maintain respiratory qualifications. Three (3) years of nuclear project experience (or equivalent) will be required in order to become fully qualified.

Exempt Grade Levels (28-30)

Minimum Requirements:These requirements must be met to be considered for this posting. Uploaded resumes and applications are the means of determination.

• Associate-s degree with two (2) years of work experience, or

• High School Diploma or Equivalency with four (4) years of work experience is required.

• Must have one (1) year of operating experience. *

*"Operations" is hands-on industrial-type operations, electrical, HVAC, blueprint reading, control room, diesel generator, high/low voltage switch gear, etc. It is not experience that is limited to administrative processing, analysis and procedures, even if such work was completed at an industrial site.

Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.

Preferred Requirements:

• Control room experience

• Operations of HVAC systems

• Knowledge of 13.8kv substations and distribution systems

• Knowledge of vacuum systems & compressed air

Minimum salary $67,817 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate-s relevant experience and education.
