Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as aBuyerto join our team located in Carlsbad, NM.

The successful candidate will support a wide variety of standard procurement activities. Negotiate, award, and administer subcontracts and purchase orders in Firm-Fixed Price, Time and Material, Labor Hour and Cost Reimbursement environments. Responsible for all aspects of subcontract administration. Interface with technical organizations in development of pre-procurement plans, statements or work, and costs estimates. Negotiate, place, and administer purchase orders and modifications with suppliers for materials and services following established policies and procedures. Prepare written procurement documents such as justification for award, negotiation memorandums, and cost/price analysis.

Minimum Requirements:These requirements must be met to be considered for this posting. Uploaded resumes and applications are the means of determination.

• Bachelor's degree, or

• Associate's degree with four (4) years of professional experience, or

• High School Diploma or Equivalency with eight (8) years of professional experience is required.

Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.

Preferred Requirements:

• Previous experience in procurement or subcontracting in commercial or government purchasing is preferred.

• Knowledge and understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and/or Department of Energy Acquisition Regulations (DEAR) is a plus.

Minimum salary $60,673 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate-s relevant experience and education.
