JOB SUMMARY

The Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting the development and execution of internal communications strategies to enhance employee engagement, foster a positive culture, and ensure consistent messaging throughout the organization. This role also assists in the planning and delivery of employee engagement events that promote team cohesion, recognition, and overall employee satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal communication plans that align with the company's objectives and culture.

  • Create, edit, and distribute internal communications materials, including newsletters, intranet content, emails, and presentations.

  • Support senior management and the internal communications team in ensuring consistent messaging across all departments.

  • Manage and update internal communication channels and tools to ensure they are effective and up to date.

  • Gather and analyze feedback to measure the effectiveness of internal communications and suggest improvements.

  • Act as a point of contact for employees to address communication-related queries and feedback.

  • Support change management initiatives by providing clear and timely communications

  • Partner with marketing and creative teams to develop supporting collateral including welcome materials, key messaging docs, etc.

  • Oversee meeting logistics including venue selection, lodging, travel, food & beverage, audio/visual support, etc.

  • Manage the planning and execution of ancillary events such as dinners, team-building activities, recreational excursions, etc.

  • Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure the best rate possible and meet business needs.

  • Create, manage, and own event project plan, timeline, and staffing schedule for events.

  • Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of employee engagement events, such as team-building activities, company-wide meetings, holiday parties, and recognition programs.

  • Develop and propose event concepts and themes that align with company values and culture.

  • Coordinate with vendors, venues, and internal stakeholders to support successful event execution.

  • Assist in managing event budgets and ensuring cost-effectiveness.

  • Collect and analyze feedback from employees to contribute to the improvement of engagement events.

  • Promote events through various internal communication channels to maximize participation and engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Human Resources, or a related field or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a similar role.

  • Experience in planning and executing corporate events and employee engagement activities is a plus.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.

  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms, such as intranets, email marketing software, and content management systems.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Location/Travel Requirement

  • Travel up to 25% of the time

  • Must live within 50 miles of our corporate headquarters in Carlsbad, CA to facilitate regular visits for events, projects, etc.

Compensation Summary

All Employees: Free Club Membership, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Basic Group Live and AD&D Insurance ($10,000), and 401k Savings and Investment Plan.

Average of 30 hours or more per week: Medical/Dental/Vision Benefits, Paid Time Off, and Sickness Benefits (in addition to the above).

Actual offer may vary from posted hiring range based on location, work experience, and/or education.

Salary range will vary based on geography of the applicant. Pay Range for Los Angeles, Orange County and Seattle: $73,140.00-$91,425.00 (Exempt), $35.16-$43.95 (Non-Exempt) Pay Range for Bay Area (California) & New York City (incl. New Jersey): $76,320.00-$95,400.00 (Exempt), $36.69-$45.87 (Non-Exempt) Pay Range for San Diego & Carlsbad (California) and all other locations: $68,688.00-$85,860.00 (Exempt), $33.02-$41.28 (Non-Exempt)
