Financial Analyst III

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, our finance teams are vital to our business and functional teams, working in partnership to make informed decisions that drive our mission and establish us as a stable and trusted industry leader. We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst III to join our team supporting the Corporate Infrastructure and Security Team (CIS) within Information Technology Shared Services (ITSS) Finance.

How will you make an impact?

You will be an integral part of the Corporate Infrastructure and Security teams. Your main duties will involve conducting financial analysis and providing valuable insights to support decision making. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and reports. Collaboration with various departments will be essential to help find ways to optimize spending, improve financial performance, and drive operational efficiencies. This role will provide you with direct exposure to upper management and executives, allowing you to contribute to strategy development, challenge existing practices, and introduce innovative processes and procedures. What you will do?

  • Recording and Reporting the News:

  • Record and post monthly journal entries, meticulously review and approve invoices, and develop and approve appropriation requests.

  • Assist in preparing and presenting financial reports and presentations to senior leadership.

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of financial policies, procedures, and controls.

  • Predicting the Future:

  • Build and update financial models to facilitate budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Communicate risks and opportunities related to expected results and build contingency plans to meet financial commitments.

  • Partnership with Teams:

  • Collaborate with teams from various departments to find ways to improve spending, boost financial performance, and streamline operations.

  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making and drive business results.

  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as required.

  • Support IT Integrations:

  • Collaborate with the Integration Management Office (IMO) and IT Integrations teams to accurately forecast one-time and recurring spend.

  • Consolidate and communicate IT Integrations financial results to leadership and key collaborators.

What Education/Experience and skills do you need to be successful?

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; equivalent experience will also be considered.

  • Minimum of 3 years of prior work experience preferred.

  • Intermediate Excel skills (experience with PowerBI a plus)

  • Proficiency in accounting principles and effective financial reporting skills

  • Demonstrated success in enhancing operational efficiency

  • Curiosity and initiative to discover root causes of issues with a keen eye for detail

  • Ability to optimally communicate sophisticated financial analysis to business leaders and to obtain operational agreement.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $83,300.00–$125,000.00.
