Director of Nursing (DON) - Montecatini Eating Disorder Treatment Center

Located in beautiful Carlsbad, California, just three miles from the Pacific coast, Montecatini is a renowned and respected treatment program for women ages 16 to 55 who are living with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder, as well as other eating disorders, and co-occurring diagnoses. The facility offers taylored programs moving the patient through the Residential, PHP and IOP levels of care.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to join our esteemed team at Montecatini Eating Disorder Treatment Center.

This full-time, salaried position is an integral part of our dynamic leadership team. The DON will be responsible for overseeing, planning, coordinating, monitoring, and supervising nursing services and the provision of behavioral health/nursing care. Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Sets the vision for nursing practice in the delivery of safe, timely, efficient, equitable and patient centered care.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments and administration to ensure that all residents’ physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental and cultural needs are met and when they are not met, acknowledges and works to resolve customer complaints.

  • Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of all nursing personnel.

  • Provide clinical leadership, strategic and long-term goals for the nursing staff.

  • Anticipates and effectively manage changes in census and acuity and allocates nursing resources based on measurement of patient acuity/care needed.

  • Role model expectations related to customer service and demonstrated sense of urgency related to the importance of patient safety.

  • Determine, assign, and assess performance objectives for nursing department.

  • Organize, coordinate, develop and review policies, procedures and nursing protocols within the facility to meet all regulatory, compliance and quality care standards.

  • Responsible for the quality of care, operational and financial efficiency of the nursing department.

  • Lead and develop the nursing staff within the facility, providing performance goals, feedback and development opportunities.

  • Set and carry out policies, goals and procedures for their function or department.Evaluate the quality of care, staff's work and the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the function or department.

  • Develop and oversee function or departmental budget and reporting.

  • Provide staff management to include hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.

  • Provide direct care as needed.

  • Direct and conduct recruitment, hiring and training of personnel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree highly preferred

  • Must be Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of California

  • 5+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)

  • 3 or more management or leadership experience as a nurse

  • 3 or more years behavioral health experience preferred.

  • Previous experience with eating disorder treatment is critical

  • Knowledge of CARF accreditation process

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Current CA RN license.

  • CPR and Verbal de-escalation certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).

  • First aid may be required based on state or facility.

Compensation for roles at Montecatini varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Montecatini provides a reasonable hourly range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California as set forth below.Role Location: California

Calculated Hourly Range for role.California: $120,000 - $140,000 annually
