JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Dickinson Law is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Registrar to join our Academic Affairs team. The ideal candidate will possess effective communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and attention to detail. This is a full-time position. The successful candidate must be able to work in person at Penn State Dickinson Law’s Carlisle, Pennsylvania location.

Key Responsibilities:

Registration:

  • Oversee law student registration in Carlisle

  • Assist in the management of the law school’s course catalog in the LionPATH system

  • Work with the Academic Affairs department to coordinate academic calendar planning, course scheduling, and facilities usage

Student Records:

  • Prepare degree audits for graduation requirements and verify certificate completions

  • Assist with graduation activities

  • Maintain records, including the custody and organization of physical files to maintain accurate and up-to-date student records

  • Ensure compliance with university policies and federal regulations regarding student records

Constituent Service:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with students, faculty, staff and alumni

  • Respond to document requests (state bar exam forms, education verifications, letters of good standing, etc.)

  • Recommend and implement improvements to Registrar’s Office policies and procedures

  • Liaise with colleagues to ensure compliance with Law School and University policies, systems and procedures

  • Update Academic Affairs Office webpages, LionPath protocols, and University Bulletin

  • Communicate key information on Academic Affairs matters with internal stakeholders

Exam Administration

  • Oversee planning for and administration of mid-term and final exams in Carlisle

  • Coordinate exam proctoring

  • Record grades and manage student evaluation process

Data Management

  • Assist with the collection and reporting of data for internal and external needs, including the mandatory ABA questionnaires, grade and ranking reports

  • Provide statistical reports to Unit leaders to support strategic planning and future needs

Qualifications and Minimum Experience:

  • Associate Degree and four or more years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and student information systems

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, faculty, and staff

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$38,300.00 - $55,500.00
