1 Way Service Tractor Trailer Mechanic in Carleton, Michigan
Homrich has been an industry leader providing demolition and environmental services to clients throughout the Midwest since 1964. We are seeking a qualified Tractor/Trailer Mechanic. This is a great opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated individual who is interested in working in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- Must have a strong knowledge regarding the safe handling and operation of trailers, tractors hydraulics, suspensions, air breaks, fabrication, electrical systems, body repairs, trailer parts, and supplies, etc.
- Valid driver's license with a Class A CDL A endorsement.
- Welding experience
Responsibilities:
- Repair and perform preventative maintenance on all tractor and trailers including: Diagnosing equipment malfunctions (mechanical, electrical and hydraulic), Diagnosing mechanical failures and determine how to fix them.
- Repair and replace brakes, adjusting and aligning wheels, tightening bolts and screws, and reassembling equipment.
- Inspecting, repairing, and maintaining trailers, mechanical equipment and machinery, such as breaks, tires and suspension.
- Perform safety inspections on tractors and trailers making sure that documentation required by the FMCSA, DOT, Federal, State and local regulations is adequate.
- Interpret work orders and technical manuals while working closely with the Shop Manager.
