Description:

Our client is looking for a Network Operations Engineer for its Long Island locations. In this position, you will be working with a team of 6 engineers to deliver network support and engineering services for the enterprise network. This role will be first shift but needs to be flexible. This person will be responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of routers, switches and all data communications software and hardware supporting the local area, wide area and wireless network infrastructure. Maintain system documentation for the Enterprise Data Networks. Supports all network Moves, Adds and Changes for the hospital. Performs routine maintenance and code upgrades for network systems. Coordination of network changes in conjunction with Change Management policies. Also coordination with and other engineering and technical teams. They will monitor systems alerts, performance and utilization reporting. They will provide support for project implementation and equipment installations and handle all network problem management, reporting and escalation.

This person must have:

1) 1 to 5 yrs experience with maintenance and support of all Cisco Catalyst series Routers and switches. and being able to trouble shoot level 1, 2 and 3 services issues. Must have thorough knowledge of IP sub netting, addressing, and Variable Length Subnet Masks to assist in problem determination and resolution.

2) 1 to 5 yrs. experience with engineering and maintenance of Cisco 6500, 4500, 3800, ASR, ISR, routing protocols (EIGRP, RIP, BGP, ISIS, mulitcast)

3) 1 to 5 yrs, Strong layer 1, layer 2 and layer 3 network troubleshooting experience. Requires in depth knowledge of Networking systems and protocols, Routing and Switching products, 802.11 Wireless technologies, TCP/IP protocols, End User Infrastructure Support, Network Management Tools, Cable Specifications, etc.

Must Have a Bachelors Degree

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Working on team to configure and deploy enterprise Cisco equipment.

Hands on experiencing configuring Cisco 9410 / 9300/ 9500.

Utilizing Solarwinds to monitor network.

Experience using CLI commands to troubleshoot EIGRP / Etherchannel / Spanning-tree / VLAN.

Exposure to BGP in an enterprise environment.

Access to Cisco ISE / Cisco Prime.

Working with NETMRI as a remote support to access to monitor network equipment.

Duties entail adding / removing DNS records from Infoblox.

Basic understanding of Palo Alto and Panorama.
