The R&D Scientist for Cytiva is responsible for development of new products and technologies focused predominantly on single cell workflows contributing to Cytiva innovation strategy.

This position is part of the Diagnostics & Genomics R&D team within Cytiva Discovery Medical located in Cardiff, UK and will be on site. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you will do:

  • Contribute to development of new single cell technologies and products aligned with business goals and timelines

  • Work with cross functional teams to contribute to the project objectives, decision making and scoping the technology pathway for single cell portfolio/workflow expansion

  • Follow procedures for product validation and verification, design manufacturing transfer, stability trials and contribute to establishing new SOPs

  • Play key role in writing customer facing documents such as instruction for use, application notes and data files

  • Experimental planning, execution, data analysis and documentation in line with company policies

Who you are:

  • Minium a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences or similar

  • Minimum one year of laboratory-based work experience preferably in an industrial setting

  • Hands-on experience working with mammalian cells or animal tissue, flow cytometry

  • Hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques such PCR, qPCR, NGS (next generation sequencing)

  • Scientific writing, statistical data analysis

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Being able to analyze large sets of next generation sequencing data

  • Experience in working in ISO 13485 environment

  • Project management

  • Track record of working in cross functional teams
