Summary: The Intern is responsible for learning the fundamentals of retail banking, supporting the day-to-day tasks and activities, and ad-hoc projects. Training is conducted within a mentorship framework, necessitating frequent interaction with various departments to include Retail Banking, Commercial Lending, Lending Operations, Electronic Banking, Home Office Operations and participate in SIU activities. Applicants must be available for a 12-week paid internship program. This is a part-time position (less than 30 hours per week). Flex hours based on class schedule.
Responsibilities: include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Work with Banking Center Managers and banking team members to gain exposure to their areas of expertise (e.g., teller line transactions, daily balancing, customer service, NuPoint Core, customer service and outreach).
- Shadow and gain an understanding of Commercial Lenders, Lending Operations, Electronic Banking and Support Operations to include Banterra products and services.
- Research business and industry trends.
- Participate in joint customer sales calling efforts.
- Participate in SIU activities.
- Some travel for exposure to different business lines of the bank.
- Maintain employee confidence and protect customer privacy by keeping data confidential.

Education/Experience:
- College student pursuing a career in a business major.
- Minimum of two years of college completed.
- Some experience in a professional office environment preferred.
