Summary

The Emergency Management Analyst supports all FEMS IV emergency management functions.

Responsibilities

  • Support all launch operations through coordination of information and activities necessary for the Launch Emergency Operations Center (LEOC) Team to function in a supporting role at the Launch EOC.

  • Develop, coordinate and facilitate Table Top Exercises (TTX) as required to help train and maintain the professional competence of the Launch Emergency Operations Center (LEOC) Team and the CCSFS DRF.

  • Assist with the annual reviews and updates of the 45th Space Wing Installation Emergency Management Plan 10-2, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (IEMP), and all the associated checklists.

  • Develop, coordinate and supervise Emergency Management Exercises (EME) in order to evaluate the plans and procedures of CCSFS First Responders, Emergency Responders and Emergency Support Functions and associated functions.

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of emergency plans, checklists and standard operating procedures.

  • Respond to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), within the required time upon notification, and activate all the systems and support the EOC Director and EOC Manager in response to the incident/event.

  • Schedule and conduct training for all CCSFS Disaster Response Force (DRF) agencies.

  • Schedule and conduct training for emergency coordinators necessary to perform critical hurricane preparatory and recovery operations prior to the beginning of each hurricane season.

  • Provide on-scene support to the Incident Commander during emergencies.

  • Support on-site educational briefings such as annual Hurricane Briefings to CCSFS personnel as requested.

  • Review and interpret Air Force Instructions and policies for the purpose of developing the plans and procedures necessary to establish and maintain the Emergency Management (EM) program for CCSFS.

  • Coordinate Emergency Management plans, policies and procedures with appropriate Air Force, County, and State officials.

  • Comply with federal, state, local, and Air Force, laws, regulations, and requirements and CCSFS energy conservation and environmental regulations, security, safety, hurricane and other specialized programs or contractual requirements relating to the business of this branch, working within the limits of established policy.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Emergency Management.

  • Interact as appropriate with state, U.S. Air Force, NASA and Brevard County Emergency Management authorities, as well as military organizations, contractor, and assigned associate units at KSC/CCSFS.

  • Support the Delta 45 WIT team by providing Emergency Management expertise in scenario development and exercise evaluation and coordination.

  • Participate as a member of the Local Emergency Planning Council, District 6.

  • Attend and participate in meetings, task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in related field and/or equivalent education/experience is preferred.

  • “Four (4) years’ experience in Emergency Management or associated field”

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class E Florida state driver’s license.

  • Must meet all standards as required by Performance Work Statement.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

  • Honorably discharged from the Armed Services (If Applicable)

  • Successfully completed all training and obtained all required licenses, certifications, and security/medical clearances for the site.

  • Required Certifications:

  • AFEMPC

  • AF AEROFERC

  • ICS 300/400

  • EOC Operations

  • Have no record or history of illegal drug use, sale, possession, or manufacture.

  • Have no felony convictions and no convictions that reflect on the individual’s reliability.

  • Must be able to meet drug testing and alcohol-free workforce requirements to include random drug and/or alcohol testing.

  • Must speak, read, write, and understand the English language, apply written rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training material.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Skill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment.

  • Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, ( MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook.
